Do Hafiz-e-Quran students get extra marks in admissions?
Updated 2026-11-04
It depends on the institution
Some admitting bodies add a fixed number of marks for Hafiz-e-Quran candidates, usually after a test of the Quran by a board they appoint. Others give none. The table below lists only the bonuses written in the official notices we use; if an institution isn’t listed, its current notice doesn’t mention one.
- UET Peshawar aggregate (ETEA) (2026-27): Hafiz-e-Quran +20, additional twenty marks added to Intermediate marks during adjustment (clause 6.3), provided the candidate qualifies UET Peshawar's Hafiz test.
- GCU Lahore BS open-merit aggregate (Fall 2026): Hifz-e-Quran +20, 20 marks added to Intermediate Part-I / DAE / AS-Level obtained marks, subject to passing the Quran-e-Majeed oral test (withdrawn if failed). No separate quota..
