Extra marks

  • Hifz-e-Quran: +20, 20 marks added to Intermediate Part-I / DAE / AS-Level obtained marks, subject to passing the Quran-e-Majeed oral test (withdrawn if failed). No separate quota.

Eligibility minimums

  • FSc / HSSC Part-I: at least 50% (Intermediate Part-I / DAE / A-Level; 45% for BFA (all disciplines); higher for some programs (e.g. 60% for engineering/Pharm-D per the BS program page))

Good to know

  • Admission is provisional on Intermediate Part-I (or DAE Year I & II). Candidates with a Part-I supplementary, or who sat composite Part I & II exams, are ineligible. There is no general entry test. A physical fitness / practical skill test applies to BS Physical Education and BFA (held 22-08-2026). LLB needs HEC LAT. BS Physics/Maths/Statistics/Electronics need Intermediate Mathematics, otherwise 2 non-credit maths deficiency courses. A-Level candidates must have at least 3 subjects and submit IBCC equivalence after admission.
  • The source PDF is the Phase-II (Fall 2026) policy. The BS program page gives the same 20/80 split.
  • News sites report other formulas (e.g. 70/30 with a test, or test 30 / interview 20 / inter 40 / matric 10) for earlier cycles. These are not on GCU's current pages.

Worked example

Matric / SSC: 1000/1100 = 90.91% × 20% = 18.1818; FSc / HSSC Part-I: 480/550 = 87.27% × 80% = 69.8182. Aggregate = 88%.

Eligibility minimums

  • FSc / HSSC Part-I: at least 60% (Intermediate (Pre-Engineering)/Computer Science/DAE, per the BS program page)

Good to know

  • GCU states: matric 20% + inter 80% = '70% weightage of these two results', and test 30%. Weights 14/56/30 are derived from this. Passing marks for the entry test follow PEC guidelines.
  • Test total marks are not stated by GCU. Enter the score as a percentage.

Worked example

Matric / SSC: 1000/1100 = 90.91% × 14% = 12.7273; FSc / HSSC Part-I: 480/550 = 87.27% × 56% = 48.8727; GCU test / ECAT / PEC-approved test: 60/100 = 60% × 30% = 18. Aggregate = 79.6%.
