Eligibility minimums

  • MDCAT: at least 55% (MBBS)
  • MDCAT: at least 50% (BDS)
  • FSc / HSSC: at least 60% (660/1100 unadjusted; grace marks not considered)

Good to know

  • Overall merit = 10% Matric% + 40% HSSC% + 50% MDCAT%, rounded to five decimals; ties broken by older age. MDCAT 2026/2025/2024 accepted. Admission is merit-cum-choice by tagged district (PRC of Sindh required).
  • MDCAT 2026: 180 MCQs, no negative marking (PM&DC public notice 19 Jun 2026). Pass marks 55% for MBBS and 50% for BDS (UHS Prospectus 2026-27; KMU Policy 2025-26; Sindh Prospectus 2026-27).
  • Older MDCATs had different totals (e.g. UHS example uses MDCAT 2024 out of 200); enter the total printed on your result card.
  • Prospectus example: Matric 650/850, HSC 660/1100, MDCAT 99/180 -> 59.147%.

Worked example

Matric / SSC: 1050/1100 = 95.45% × 10% = 9.5455; FSc / HSSC: 1000/1100 = 90.91% × 40% = 36.3636; MDCAT: 150/180 = 83.33% × 50% = 41.6667. Aggregate = 87.5758%.

How is the Sindh MBBS/BDS aggregate (public universities & colleges) calculated?

For 2026-27 admissions, Government of Sindh public medical universities/colleges (JSMU, DUHS, LUMHS, PUMHSW, SMBBMU, KMU-KMDC, Gambat, Khairpur, SMBBMC Lyari) weights Matric / SSC 10%, FSc / HSSC 40% and MDCAT 50%. Each part is your marks divided by the total, times its weight, and the parts are added up. Example: Matric / SSC: 1050/1100 = 95.45% × 10% = 9.5455; FSc / HSSC: 1000/1100 = 90.91% × 40% = 36.3636; MDCAT: 150/180 = 83.33% × 50% = 41.6667. Aggregate = 87.5758%. How much does the MDCAT (conducted by Sukkur IBA University for Sindh) count in the Sindh MBBS/BDS aggregate (public universities & colleges)?

50% of the aggregate. With full marks in everything else, every 1% you score in the MDCAT (conducted by Sukkur IBA University for Sindh) adds 0.5 points to your aggregate.

What is the Sindh MBBS/BDS closing merit?
