Eligibility minimums
- NED Entry Test: at least 50% (50% in entry test required to qualify)
- FSc / HSSC Part-I: at least 60% (HSC 60% for Engineering, 50% for BS programmes (admission cancelled otherwise))
Good to know
- Matric is not part of the merit score. Candidates who already completed HSC/A-Level enter complete results and are 'dealt with as per the policy (Chapter-4 of the Prospectus)' — that chapter could not be text-extracted. A Hafiz-e-Quran test is held (10 Jul 2026) but the marks credited are not stated in the documents read. Discipline is chosen in an interactive interview in merit order within each category (Karachi board, other boards, self-finance etc.).
- Entry test total of 100 is derived from four sections of 25 marks each (FAQ).
- Rule for candidates with completed HSC (Chapter-4 of the prospectus) not verified; the 157 MB prospectus PDF text was not extractable.
- Hafiz-e-Quran credit amount not verified.

How is the NED merit score (Entry Test) calculated?
For 2026 admissions, NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi weights FSc / HSSC Part-I 40% and NED Entry Test 60%. 60% of the aggregate. With full marks in everything else, every 1% you score in the NED Pre-Admission Entry Test adds 0.6 points to your aggregate.
